Counters
Electronic and electromechanical counters are used to keep track of a total number of events or to present an output at a predetermined number of events.

Electronic and electromechanical counters accept inputs and increment the counter each time a pulse is received. Using sensors, switches, encoders and relays, counters can keep track of a wide variety of events including the product of individual components in a manufacturing process, or the length of wire pulled through a spool.

There are two primary types of counters. Totalizing counters receive inputs to register the total number of pulses and display that number in a numerical value, and predetermining counters count to a preset number and give an output.

CX200 Preset Timer Series Image
The CX200 is a microprocessor based timer/counter housed in a standard 15 terminal CYCL-FLEX® plug-in case. Time or count operation, time range, and standard or reverse start operation is selected by 7 miniature rocker switches located inside the unit housing. Time or count setpoints are entered into the unit using a sealed membrane keypad on the front of the unit. Each digit in the setpoint is individually increased or decreased by pressing the appropriate keypad switch. Time or count setpoint and progress is displayed on the front of the unit by a 4-1/2 digit liquid crystal display with 0.5 inch digits. Time or count subtracts from the setpoint and the output changes state at zero. Operational mode annunicators also appear in the display area on the front of the unit. The mode annunciator flashes when the unit is timing or counting

The Hz170 Series us an electromechanical counter housed in the standard Cycl-Flex Case. The unit is available in three count ranges: 12, 40, and 100. The count det point is adjustable by a knob on the front of the unit. All three count ranges use a solenoid operated pawl food count motor and an electromechanical clutch. Output sequences are controlled by two sets of SPDT instantaneous contacts and two delayed SPDT switches.

Time or count operation, timerange, and the type of start input switch operation are programmed with 7 miniature rocker swiches located inside the unit.
