VT for Fans and pumps

    Hi i want to know why VT for fans and pumps only?

    Hello Nickolas, this is a very good question.

    VT stands for Variable Torque and is only used on Fan and pump applications because they are the only ones that drop the load dramatically at speeds below 70%. It is an air and water thing, for lack of a better word. So at 50% of rated speed a fan only demands about 1/8 the load amps it does at full speed.
