    Hi:

I recently came across a Crouse- Hinds ceiling mount explosion proof fixture. It has about a 14 inch diameter porcelain shade and a veyr thick (explosion proof) housing that protects the bulb.

I need to take it apart to rewire it and am having trouble separating the components (especially the top piece closet to the ceiling). I’ve tried using PB Blaster, Free-All to loosen things up, but i can’t loosing the top housing.

I’m wondering if I’m not turning in the right direction. Does anyone know if the top housing has reverse threads?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get this information off the fixture:

    Class 1 Group: CD

    Catalog #: EVA 120

    250V,200W

    8112-B4

    Thank you.

    Dan
