Hi I saw this modem looking thing on your website here and wanted to know,
What is a TOSIBOX?

Hello xcd, Tosibox is a means of connecting machines and devices in as little as 5 minutes with intelligent connectivity. TOSIBOX has patented technology they call “PLUG & GO” that allows you to configure your master key, hook up to your machine or drvice like a Drive, a PLC, HMI, Camera or another PC literally anywhere on the planet the internet goes, TOSIBOX goes. You can get an optional USB style modem that plugs into the USB port of the “Lock” and allows it to connect to internet either via Ethernet port or the USB modem. So if 1 goes down the other will automatically reconnect it to internet. Very simple to setup, very secure for your business devices.

Sound interesting, but how does it secure your connection and how does Plug & Go work?

Great questions, first the Plug & Go technology they have patented here in the US is what makes it so easy to use. When you get it brand new in the box, you simply plug the “Key” (a little memory stick looking thing) into the USB port on the “Lock” give it a minute after power on to establish each other as a mated pair if you will, then you plug your Ethernet compatible device into 1 of the ports on the Lock and plug the Key into your PC, and BAM,,, your connected to that device anywhere it goes.
The Lock 200 secures with a VPN and up to 50 concurrent connections. The current encryption level is 2048 bit RSA hardware based for both the Lock 100 and Lock 200 models. Very strong security for protecting your devices from anywhere to go anywhere.

This thing is very interesting, but can you use 3rd party software through it?

Hello Frank great question, the answer is yes you can. The Tosibox is effectively just a quick and easy but very secure way to connect to any device that is Ethernet compatible. For instance, we sell a lot of VFD’s here at Galco, many of them with Ethernet built in or an option module is available for Ethernet connectivity. With the OEM’s software you can access functions in these VFDs with your laptop or desk top computer. With TOSIBOX connected you can be anywhere on the planet, setup in minutes, and check your devices through Ethernet. No additional service fees to pay either, all you need is an internet connection and your in.

Ok but how does it know your computer from the rest of the internet?
January 11, 2017 at 9:14 am #8196
Another good question, it is the Key that has all the Lock’s information stored on it to find it out there. As soon as you plug the key into your computer’s USB port, it loads the necessary software and security information to find the lock almost immediately. When you first buy the Lock and key, they have to plugged into each other for a minute (powered up) to establish there identities and generate their own security codes. Also, this will be the master key for the Lock, TOSIBOX software will allow you to program additional keys for the same lock if needed. Also a PIN number is established so if any of the keys are lost, they can be deleted from the system for additional protection.
Pretty cool eh?
