I am currently installing a VFD (not purchased for Galco). The VFD manufacturer recommends Bussmann type 50FE (50A) fuses on the input side. 50FE does not appear to be a common fuse type in the US. In addition, I am having trouble identifying a compatible fuse block/holder for the FE style.

Could you recommend a semiconductor protection fuse offering a similar level of protection and rating that is readily available in the US, along with a compatible 2-pole fuse holder?

Hello Gordon, and thanks for asking. Absolutely we would be happy to help you with some comparable fuses. All VFD’s have semiconductors in the Front end of them, used to Convert AC to DC. We would recommend a semiconductor type fuse at 50 amps for you, like a Bussmann FWH50. This is a blade type fuse and will require a fuse block to mount to, ok? Please give us a call at 800-575-5562 and ask for sales, ok?
