Hi, to cut to the chase I left some AA batteries in a device of mine for quite a while without taking the batteries out. This inevitably lead to the eventual battery leakage, of course. My device no longer works but is there anything that I can try doing to fix it? Thanks for reading.

    Hi Shane,

This is a pretty common thing if you leave batteries in something for a while. Best you can do is try disassembling the component and clean any battery spillage with some alcohol and a solvent brush. I’d give it about a 50/50 shot on whether it’ll work again after that, but it’s worth a shot!

Hey thanks for the help, I got it working again! Now I know not to leave batteries in things like that next time if I am not going to use them for a long time.
